| A spectacular comet discovered by J. C. Bennett from South Africa on 28 December 1969. It reached zero magnitude in March 1970 and had a tail 30° long. Observations made with the Orbiting Geophysical Observatory 5 revealed a vast hydrogen cloud surrounding the head and tail measuring 13 million kilometres in the direction parallel to the tail. |
